Destination Bangsar for a delicious flavourful Mee Goreng

Fancy a delicious plate of Mee Goreng? Head on to Saleem’s Stall in Lorong Ara Kiri 3, Lucky Garden, Bangsar for one of the best ‘Mamak Mee Goreng” in town. The maestro behind the wok is Navvirusaleem Ibrahim who plies his trade in a modest stall opposite Restoran Lai Ping. The menu is simple. Just fried noodles with a choice of mee, beehoon, kuey teow or Maggi mee. There's also mee rebus and rojak. Each item is RM6. If you add extra sotong, it's an extra RM4.

Also try the delicious rojak @ Saleem’s Stall

The mee goreng is the star of the show, full of punchy flavours attributed to Saleem’s home-made special sauce of chilli boh and herbs such as lemongrass, galangal, garlic and ginger. It is comfort food at its best, packed with generous servings of fritters, sliced beancurd puffs, crunchy green chillies to add colour and spice for the Malaysian taste buds. Saleem’s mee rebus is just as good with his slow cooked thick sauce with a zesty taste from the combination of ground nuts, potatoes and prawns. The goodness lingers on the tongue after each spoonful. Saleem who is now a Bangsar favourite, after years of dishing out goodness, also makes a mean rojak. His liberal use of ground nuts together with garnished vegetables, fritters, “kuih kelapa”, bean curd all come together in a delicious creamy nutty sauce. I like my sauce savoury and not sweet and Saleem gets it right!

Saleem's Stall is opposite Restoran Sin Lai Ping, Lorong Ara Kiri 3, Lucky Garden, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. Open: 7.30am to 4.30pm. (Monday to Saturday). Tel:012-3998673. Closed on Sunday and public holidays.
